Volunteer
Opportunities--
Adopt a
shelf--Strike
a blow against Chaos!
What Is Adopt-A-Shelf?
- Well, it's really adopt-a-section. Each section
can take up to 60 minutes depending on the section adopted--once
organized, you may find you are spending less time. You may, of
course, adopt more than one section if you wish
- We ask that you come approximately every 2 weeks at your
convenience. We are very flexible--just come in whenever we are
open.
- Going on vacation? NO PROBLEM-- please let us know ahead of time.
What do we expect of our Adopt-a-shelf volunteers:
- Maintain your section by keeping it in numerical and
alphabetical order.
- It is important to record each visit in the Adopt-A-Shelf
chart--one is in our main work room, the other is in the
Children's Librarian's office. We'll be sure you are trained
before we let you loose!
This is a wonderful way to make a meaningful contribution to the
library, even if your time is limited....
- Make it a family project to keep part of the library looking
great--this is great for families with kids who are middle school
aged or older
- Working people with limited time can make an important
contribution
