York Public Library is 
FREE to the residents 
and taxpayers of York. 

Library Cards are free to residents and those who pay property taxes in York.

Non-residents may purchase a library card for $35.  This non-resident card is valid for one year.

There are two circulation periods for library materials:  

  • All videocassettes and DVDs circulate for 7 days.  

  • All other materials circulate for 3 weeks.    

All materials may be renewed once, unless there is a hold on an item. There is a $.10 per day charge on all overdue materials. There is also a $1 charge for an item that has been reserved by a patron, but not picked up within the 5 days it's on our hold shelf. 

  • Free INTERNET Access -- use Library PCs or your own laptop to access the internet via  LAN or wireless!

The library provides free INTERNET access.  We do require parental permission  for users under the age of 18.   Parents must read and agree to the conditions of the library's INTERNET policy and sign a permission slip.
