Homework
Help---
High School Ace This
is a nicely organized site. The links to reference tools in basic
subjects are good but it's the "Subject Guides" which
you might find really helpful. This site boasts no advertising!
Homework
Haven--Morris County NJ librarians share tips on using search
engines here. We certainly agree with the following advice, though--the
Internet is great, but don't forget "tree-based" info--
"Look, books have been around for 543 years,
since Gutenberg's
Bible. Books are good, books are useful. Sometimes they are
better and faster than the Internet. If you haven't found
what you need on the Net in 20 minutes its time to rethink your
attack or grab a good book. The web, for instance, is not
a great source for literary criticism and analysis of dead authors.
It is good for something like global warming or disappearing
whales."
Most important--if
you really get stumped, come to the York Library and ask a real
live librarian for help--we are great info detectives!
